Our training firm is called SWIFT GmbH and is located at Hetzendorfer Straße 66-68, 1120 Vienna. We are one of many training firms of the ibc-: Hetzendorf and sell office equipment and supplies in both English and German.

Why we chose trade in office equipment

We have chosen the industry trade of office machines, office furniture, stationery, school and office articles, because this industry is in great demand and we see an economic success in this area. In addition, we have great interest in this industry and see a growing market, as it is becoming increasingly important for employers to be able to provide their employees with a pleasant and modern working environment.

What we do at our training company

Swift is a training company that currently employs 27 students and two teachers. The company is run as a GesmbH (limited liability company) and is registered in the ACT Company Register. The managing directors are Eveline Skala and Fiona Leaf.

Swift trades in office machines, office furniture, stationery, and office supplies.   


Processes
Our knowledge and competences are the recipe for success for the modern working day of our customers. By constantly optimizing our processes, we guarantee the most effective office support possible. For corporate customers, our processes are based on the needs and expectations of our entrepreneurs as well as those of their employees.

Our employees are required to use their professional and social skills for the benefit of the customers and the company. This means that each individual must both take initiative and act as part of a team. By giving all employees the opportunity to have a decisive influence on our corporate goals, we ensure the highest level of motivation. In doing so, we expect each of our employees to be willing to show maximum commitment and customer orientation in order to guarantee the greatest possible success.

A Place for Learning

Working at Swift gives students an insight into the working world of the future. Through practical work assignments and independent execution, the students are optimally prepared. The aim is to create a place for learning where students can work independently and put into practice all the knowledge they have acquired throughout their eduaction at ibc hetzendorf.

Our goal is to increase the initiative and teamwork skills of our employees. 

 

Do

The independent execution of everyday tasks that arise in a company, the abilitiy to make informed decision, time management and the ability to set priorities should be promoted. Through the exchange of information within as well as between the different departments, conflict resolution and cooperation is fostered.

 

Check

Employee surveys, interviews, and regular business meetings are used to promote communication and collaboration among the various students. Furthermore, the work environment encourages students to work independently. Larger projects such as setting up an assessment center or participating in company trade fairs bring employees together and strengthen their personalities through independent planning, organization and execution. 

 

Act

Consciously delegating and challenging introverted students is intended to give everyone an opportunity to prove their abilities within the framework of the training company. Furthermore, the responsibilities for certain tasks are clearly delegated among the various departments. This allows the students to concentrate on their tasks and not be held up by questions about the distribution of work.

Coaching

At Swift, teachers take on the role of coaches. The employees are asked to define their own learning goals with input from their coaches. Regular self-assessments as well as feedback from the coaches regarding the achievement of these goals support the learning and development process.

As a Company

Plan
Our goal is to increase our market presence. This means for us an increase in sales of 4%. Furthermore, we can ensure our financial independence by increasing our profit by 6%.
Do
In order to increase our sales, we participate in various trade fairs, which allows us to increase our visibility and customer pool. In addition, we regularly send a new offer to all our customers and we also keep them informed through our website. Our sales department continues to make sure to source quality products so that we can keep our promise to deliver quality goods.
Check 
Our marketing department takes care of our customers and our public image. As a result, it is responsible for the majority of the actions necessary to achieve our goals. The Finance Department monitors our results and, together with the other Marketing Departments, assists in the planned implementation.
Act
When sending internal school letters to other OBs, we regularly enclose an offer in order to repeatedly draw attention to our products and certain promotions. Furthermore, we always send the invoices to our customers immediately after the order is placed in order to maintain our reputation as a good supplier.

 

Sustainability 

Sustainability is taken very seriously at Swift. In fact, environmental awareness is present in our values and because of that our company concept is especially built on this topic. Important to us are things like:

  • The repairability, durability and quality of our products.

  • Environmentally friendly production of our products 

  • Environmentally friendly transport 

  • Regional suppliers 

  • Economical and recyclable packaging

Because Swift represents what the Austrian Ecolabel promises
To ensure the implementation of these goals, we pay attention to the following measures:

  • Use of eco-paper for handouts

  • Use of refillable whiteboard pens

  • Use of ecological flipchart paper 

  • When selecting our product range, we pay great attention to ecological factors (durable, no plastic, short supply chain)

  • Speakers are, if possible, taken from the Vienna area to avoid emissions

  • When purchasing office furniture we pay attention to ecological factors (wooden furniture)

  • In the office the motto is: "repair instead of throwing away

  • Reduce room temperature to 19°C

  • Unplug chargers after use

  • Solar lights instead of conventional light

Digitalisation

The topic of digitalisation follows us in all areas. In our company, we are incorporating digital technology to improve our goals. This way, interactions with our customers and partners are easier - and higher revenue streams can be expected.

  • The introduction of email calendars with accurate dates and important appointments

  • Communication with customers is mainly done through emails

  • A sales call was made through the Teams platform

  • Staff surveys are conducted online

  • Document management is done on the computer

  • The use of digital platforms is encouraged

  • The establishment, management and launch of social media in a        marketing sense

  • Automatic generation of contracts

  • Automatic sending of notices or reminders

  • Digital document work in teams

Annual Priorities

This year, we have decided to place emphasis on three areas of our business. 

​

Online Presence
Our marketing team will be more present on online, in particular on social media platforms. We will actively post stories on instagram, reporting on the exciting daily work of Swift. We want to hold more online presentations, so that everyone who is interested can join. 

​

Real life
We want students to see more than they have in the past. We want them to visit universities, real businesses, and more. We want them to see how real life works and get a taste of what the future holds. In this way, we enable them to dive even deeper into reality.

Sustainability
Sustainability is very important and we want to focus heavily on that. There is less and less attention being paid to our environment, so Swift wants to work harder on that. Since sustainability is a big topic and there are different ways to protect our environment, we have put a separate item with our ideas.

Rebranding

In order to increase employee engagement, we have decided to rejuvenate our brand by involving our students in the redesign of our logo as well as through creating a new and innovative range of products.

Onboarding Guide

To further support the onboarding process of future employees, the current staff is busy designing a digital onboarding guide that includes

  • an video introduction of the business

  • detailed process instructions including helpful tutorials prepared by the employees themselves and

  • a customized FAQ for Swift newcomers.
